Food Sensitivity Panel

Food Sensitivity Panel

The Food Sensitivity Panel includes an IgG antibody test to 184 foods. This test is used to identify food sources of inflammation and digestive distress. IgG antibodies have a delayed reaction and can stay in the bloodstream as long as three months after exposure to a food trigger. A food sensitivity reaction is not immediate, as with a food allergy. This makes identifying food sensitivities difficult without testing. These IgG antibodies can accumulate and increase systemic inflammation with every exposure to a food trigger.

The food sensitivity panel results will list each food scored on a scale of 0-3: 0 indicates normal reactivity and 3 indicates high reactivity. A higher IgG reactivity level can mean that there’s a possibility that food can be increasing inflammation and causing symptoms. The foods flagged positive are ideal candidates for a temporary elimination followed by an add-back challenge. This is not a food allergy test, food intolerance test, or celiac panel, however, we can order a food allergy panel and/or celiac panel separately. This test is a blood spot collected at home and sent to the lab with a prepaid packaging.
