K-Laser Therapy

The K-Laser is a high power class IV hot laser that targets injured tissue with specific wavelengths of light. These wavelengths interact with damaged tissue and accelerate the healing process. Similar to photosynthesis in plants, light energy passes through the skin into the cell membrane, stimulating a process called photobiostimulation. This process assists the body’s natural regenerative functions by stimulating collagen production and the release of endorphins.  

The goal of K-Laser therapy is to normalize the damaged or injured tissue by speeding up healing. This leads to a reduction in pain, stiffness, swelling, and spasms. As the injured area returns to normal, function is restored and patients can resume normal activities.

High power class IV hot laser therapy can stimulate all types of cells, including soft tissue, ligaments, cartilage, and nerves. Treatments on a single injured area last anywhere from 1 to 9 minutes depending on the size of the area being treated. If there are multiple injured areas then the treatment may last up to 30 minutes. Importantly, most patients report a warm and relaxing sensation during the session.

Many patients report pain relief after the first or second session. Most patients report significant pain relief and restored function after multiple sessions. The required number of sessions depends on the severity and chronicity of the condition.
